Skills for Care

‘ICare Ambassadors’ This project was delivered through live workshops nationally and the provision of an e-learning programme to support ongoing learning. The story of Joy, an experienced carer, unfolds as she prepares to be an effective ambassador for people considering careers in care. Key messages in the live interactive drama and online learning programme included dispelling myths of working in care, raising confidence for new ambassadors and developing strategies for communication.

‘Performance reviews’ Two episodes in the lives of Sue and Nick working in the fictional ‘Spark Finance’ were played on film to an audience of employees at UKAR. UKAR is a government run organisation in the finance sector which appreciates its young workforce and wants to retain and develop talent. Act Positive were commissioned to create an interactive film conveying the pitfalls and potential for effective performance reviews to support people development. All employees saw the film and could reflect on their individual contribution to having effective performance reviews.
